What is the secret to a good life?
Ultimately, the secret to a good life may be a combination of so many elements, like work-life balance, gratitude and positivity, positive relationships, health, purpose and meaning and financial security. Money does not guarantee happiness, but it does alleviate stress and allow opportunities for growth and happiness. It's your own personal journey of self-discovery and self-reflection that helps determine what brings happiness and fulfillment for someone.
What do you do for fun or to recharge?
Binge-watching mindless shows is a way for me to unwind and relax, and really serves as a form of escapism from the stresses of daily life.
What is your leadership style?
I use a combination of leadership styles, but do well with adapting my approach to the needs of my team and the context of each situation.
What is your favorite app and why?
Whether or not Yahoo News is considered a "good" app can be subjective, however, I enjoy it because it provides content variety, with a good mix of breaking news, entertainment, sports, and is user friendly.
What characteristics do you value most in your coworkers?
1. Ethics and Integrity: Maintaining high ethical standards and demonstrating integrity in all actions is crucial for trust and credibility within a team. 2. Communication: Strong communication skills because effective communication promotes understanding, prevents misunderstandings, and facilitates problem-solving. 3. Respect and Empathy: Treating others with respect, empathy, and kindness is essential for a harmonious workplace. 4.Teamwork: Having that ability to collaborate effectively with others is highly valued and contributes to a positive work environment and helps achieve collective goals. There truly are so many more but building a diverse team with a variety of skills and qualities helps build a successful group.
What is something you wish someone had told you during your career journey?
Everyone's career journey is unique, and what works for one person may not work for another. But always staying true to yourself is going to keep your grounded. Yes, it is essential to adapt and grow in your career, but don't lose sight of your core values and principles. Staying authentic to yourself can lead to greater satisfaction and fulfillment.
What is one piece of advice that has served you well in your journey and who did you get it from?
Work -life balance and it was my husband, who was tired of me not understanding the significance. It involved setting boundaries at work, managing my time effectively, prioritizing tasks, and learning to say no when necessary.
What’s the last series you binge-watched?
Cruel Summer on Hulu. It never fails to send you spiraling down the "who done it" trail. It gets me in the end each time too. I am always wrong.
